The Corner Cafe Parts 1, 2, 3 to be continued........enjoy

He sat there staring at me. The Corner Cafe written across the store front window. He just stared, he sipped his drink. He checked his cell phone periodically, as time passed I found myself staring back at him. He smiled at me, I wondered how deep his voice was. He was lost in his thoughts as was I. The fire place was lit and the night was cold. The stringy waitress approached and asked if I wanted another soy latte, I declined, and asked for a glass of water instead. I took another bite of my BLT, he was still there looking at me. His eyes were dark and his lips were full. He had thick brows and broad shoulders. A good looking man French, Italian, maybe even Spanish
Our eyes played a wicked game of tag. He glared out of the window behind me. The look of concern consumed his face. I was too terrified to turn around and look. I sat there in my booth shaking. The world
we lived in was not exactly normal, the world as we knew it was over. I looked at the waitress right as she dropped the coffee pot from her hands. The shatter jarred me. I had just enough time to reach into my bag and pull out my guns...

I jumped on top of the table that sat in between the seats of the booth. Gun blazing the stranger ran along the wall with such speed and precision, a sword in one hand and a gun in the other. I tried to push the pale waitress out of the way with no luck, she was impaled while being decapitated. So much happened in the blink of an eye.
Six dark beings came through the cafe window. All baring the crest of the dark lords from within. There were screams coming from the back of the cafe. A few people running scared outside, mostly street dwellers and women of the night. It was a raid.
The dark forces owned the night. Dressed in black and covered with smoke and shadows. One by one they were taken out by the mystery man. I tried so hard not to piss my pants. My modified semi automatics sprayed the next wave of dark beings with such force it sent them flying back through the broken window from whence they came.
Their speed; unmatched by full breed humans, I am no ordinary human I am a hunter and it was time to put my prey to rest. The shadows that survived my ammo came back at me with a loud thunder. The ground shook as they sped toward me. The creatures howled. Eyes glowing red.
Multiple whips of electric black energy shot toward me. I managed to dodge the majority, my arm and back caught a few lashing. I hissed in pain. My anger mounting. The stranger was fighting his own battle on the counter knocking the dark figures down one by one. Displays of pastries hit the counter stools and then the floor. His gun shot blue electrified bullets, each bullet hitting it's mark. He was laying there asses out.
He gave me a familiar glare, he aimed his gun at me. I watched as one of those electric bullets came hurrying my way...

Everything went black

I blinked my sight back to focus, everything was foggy, my mind was cloudy, I was looking at the ceiling, the long pendant lights swung overhead, flashes of the café and the man, then being shot at…I was dead, he shot at me, I had to be dead. My body reacted to my thoughts I shot up off of the counter. There was destruction everywhere, sparks of electricity made the dark bright, it was quiet . He was there standing watching over me. I didn’t know if I should be mad or grateful, the fight was over and I slept through it, he shot at me, but he saved me.
“ We need to get out of here, there will be more.” His voice was like chocolate, deep, husky, better than I’d imagined.” He helped me down. “Can you walk?”
“Yeah.” He tossed me my bag, I strapped it around me, I grabbed my guns off the counter and I followed the stranger out of the café.
