Mommy & Me Movie Review: The Other Guys & The Expendables

MOVIE: The Expendables

Where do I begin, what an action packed film, Mom and I were so surprised not only did Stallone delivery, the casting was great. Mom was a bit apprehensive about seeing a film directed by Stallone. Needless to say she was pleasantly surprised. There were so many rich action scenes as expected in a film with Willis, Li, Stallone, Statham, Lundgren, Crews, Couture, Rourke the list goes on. I am still on the fence about the story, I felt like there could have been more, but at the end of the day mom and I both left the theater talking about the film and pretending we were the good guys kicking butt.          The guys were basically a team of mercenaries that got the job done, they are the best of their kind, and they always get there man. The film focused mostly on Statham, Li, and Stallone, and a few others, all players had their part in this film and they played them well. Mom and I would go see this movie again in a heartbeat. This is definitely a movie to add to any action collection.
This is probably not the type of movie you would want to bring the little ones to due to the violence. Go see this movie if you out with the guys or if you are just looking to see a good action film.

MOVIE: The Other Guys

If you are looking to get out of the house and get a good laugh please go see The Other Guys. Farrell and Wahlberg are an absolute treat, they had great chemistry Throughout the entire movie. Duane Johnson(The Rock) and Samuel Jackson were funny and over the top, even though there parts were short lived. Also look out there's a Wayans in the movie Damon Wayans son plays a cop as well let's see if you can point him out.

Farrell and Wahlberg play two cops from two different sides of the police line. Wahlberg's character wanted to get out there and make a name for himself, he wanted to be a part of the action and the big cases, and there's no butt kissing on his men. As for Farrell, his pen pushing computer typing ways had him used to the comforts of his desk, and not the streets. Farrell as always has me on the verge of tears I laughed so hard. Mom could not stop laughing, finally we agree fully on a movie.
If boredom has set in and you need something to do, make sure you see this movie. The Other Guys rock, I'll be an Other Guy any day. I really don't recommend this movie to kids, more of an adult flick, as a parent you may want to accompany your kids. Strong language and suggestive humor.

As always mom and I visited The New 400 Movie theater on Sheridan road. They serve beer, Wine, and alcohol. How can you beat that. The 400 is located at 6746 N. Sheridan Road (Chicago, Rogers Park). Happy Movie Going!!
